2011 High School Students Awarded Scholarships

On June 2, 2011 the Kiwanis Club of Vero-Treasure Coast presented $1,000 scholarships to six graduating seniors. Chair of the Kiwanis Scholarship Committee Al Sammartino adressed the scholars and their parents and said, "In the past we have awarded five scholarships each year, but this year's applicants were so outstanding that we decided to present six." He added that the recipients averaged nearly 1,000 hours of community service during their high school years.
The scholarship winners are:
- Anastasia Eva Gabor who will attend the University of Florida and study business;
- Jeanne Brazauskas who will study nursing at Indian River State College;
- Alexandria Huff who will attend Florida State and study marketing;
- Kymberli Zuchert who will be a social work major at Florida Gulf Coast;
- Kandace Trodglen who will attend Florida State and major in social work; and,
- Alexander Scehen who will study accounting at the University of Miami.
